Mar 20: Community Meeting

Last year KingSett Capital offered to sell 214-230 Sherbourne back to the city. However, after more than 8
months of negotiations KingSett and the city are unable
to agree on a price.

The city won’t pay the inflated price that KingSett paid
in March 2022 – when KingSett outbid the city for the
properties. The city also continues to refuse to
expropriate 214-230 Sherbourne despite the urgent need
for social housing in Downtown East Toronto.

On Wednesday March 20 we will be holding a community meeting at All Saints Church. We will demand that Mayor Chow and Rob Kumer come to an agreement which would see the city acquiring 214-230 Sherbourne to build urgently needed rent-geared-to-income housing on the site. The following day we will rally at City Hall and bring our message directly to the city.
