Positive Development in Fight for 214-230 Sherbourne!

The community in the downtown east end of Toronto and its allies have been fighting for over a decade for the properties at 214-230 Sherbourne to be turned into social housing and recently to stop the development of a 47 story condo.  Despite a setback in 2022, when the City lost a bid to purchase the site, organizing continues and –  We are closer to winning!

According to a statement by local City Counsellor Chris Moise, the City is in talks with the developer Kingsett about acquiring the properties.

Now is the time to keep up the fight!  Please join 230 Fightback to apply whatever pressure possible and ensure that this property be saved from luxury condo development while outside its doors the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis continues to rage.  This site must be for those who need it desperately for social housing.

Join in sending a loud message to Kingsett to do the right thing and ensure the property goes to the City for public, social housing to meet the needs of the existing community.
